REGISTRAR’S OFFICE

Graduate Application/Fee: More information about the Registrar’s Office/Graduate Application can be found at my.usj.edu. Login and click on the “student” tab located at the top of the screen. The first screen you are brought to will have information about the Graduate Application and the Graduation Fee. You can also go to www.usj.edu/graduationapplications to find information about the application.

Students can review their application anytime on MyUSJ. If you have a change of name or address you should contact the registrar’s office ASAP ([email protected]).

The application deadlines are as follows:

  • December Graduates: April 30
  • May Graduates: Sept. 30
  • August Graduates: Sept. 30

All applications received now for May or Aug. conferral are considered late and a $50 late fee will be applied to the graduation fee.

Please note: The Graduation Application/Fee is not an application or fee to participate in Commencement. Graduation refers to officially receiving a degree once a student has been certified by the University as having met all the degree requirements.

Commencement is the ceremony celebrating program completion and is an opportunity for you, your family and friends, as well as the whole USJ community to celebrate your academic accomplishments.

Transcripts: To request transcripts click on the following link: www.usj.edu/transcripts. The Registrar’s Office will accept transcript requests anytime. If you select “Hold for Degree” the office will keep the request and mail the transcripts after the degree is conferred.

Honors Cords: Honors cords are distributed only to qualifying undergraduate students. Graduate students do not receive honors cords. The Registrar’s Office contacts students directly to notify them that they are receiving cords. Honors cords can be picked up in the Registrar’s Office, McDonough Hall.

Pronunciation: Phonetic spelling of your name was submitted when you submitted your graduation application. If you have a particularly challenging name and are worried the phonetic spelling may not be sufficient please email [email protected] to express this concern. Further directions will be given to you via email about how to remedy those concerns.

Student Seating Reservation/Tickets (DEADLINE: April 19, 2017)
Please RSVP to [email protected] by April 19. Include in your RSVP the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your graduate program
  • If you plan to attend the ceremony
  • The number of tickets you are requesting (4 maximum)
  • If you or a family member requires disability services. A university representative will contact you via email so the appropriate arrangements can be made.

All students MUST RSVP to attend the events and receive guest tickets. This will ensure a reader name card is created for you and enough student seating is planned. Students who don’t RSVP by the deadline are not guaranteed guest tickets. Thank you very much for your anticipated assistance.

Due to the number of seats the Commencement tent can accommodate, tickets are required for all guests attending. Graduate students will be allowed four tickets. If you do not need all four tickets, please only request the number you will need. If you need extra tickets, please make that request through email. If available a pool of unused tickets will be kept by the Provost’s Office for students who request additional tickets. We will do our best to accommodate the needs and requests of all students, however, extra tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets will become available for pick-up at the Countdown to Commencement event. After Countdown to Commencement, all tickets must be picked up in the Office of the Provost (Mercy Hall, First Floor, Room 16) at any time between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday–Friday. Later pick-up hours (6 p.m.–8 p.m.) can be arranged via email.
