The Center for Applied Research and Education

CARE at Gengras Center School

care-building.jpgThe Center for Applied Research and Education — CARE — is an expansion of the Gengras Center School. The 22,000 square foot facility, which opened in May 2015, provides much need space for the Gengras community.

The new building includes:

  • A new gym and art room
  • Expanded Applied Behavior Analysis services
  • Additional therapy space
  • Four new classrooms
    • Two for vocational learning
    • Two for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder

care-teaching.jpgCARE also enhances the University’s ability to accept more students into the Applied Behavior Analysis master’s degree program — the only one in the state of Connecticut.

The Gengras Center School, a state-approved, private special education facility, is a leader in educating students with special needs (ages 5-21) by providing

  • Academic
  • Vocational
  • Transition
  • and Life Skills programs

The Gengras Center School is now enrolling students. For enrollment information, contact Michelle Lestrud, director of the Gengras Center School, at 860.231.5616 or [email protected].
