Festival of Lights

On Sunday, December 2, University of Saint Joseph will host its annual Festival of Lights, an ecumenical celebration of the season of Advent. The Festival will be held at 4:00 p.m. in The Connor Chapel of Our Lady. This program is free of charge and the general public is cordially invited to attend.

A combination of Scripture, music, liturgical dance and prayer, the Festival of Lights features: The University of Saint Joseph Choir, Voices of Praise Gospel Choir, and the Instrumental Ensemble, under the direction of Ezequiel Menendez, D.M.A.; the USJ Dance Ensemble, directed by Susan Murphy, M.A.; and the Gengras Center Choir directed by Richard Alfonso.

During the Festival, the congregation will participate in a traditional candle-lighting ceremony, recognizing the community’s spiritual joy and hope for the upcoming holiday season. Immediately following this event, all are invited to the Festival of Lights Dinner in the McGovern Café. Admission: $15 per person; children ages 12 and under: $5.
