Congratulations to Shawn Harrington, USJ’s vice president for finance and administration, for being named a CFO of the Year Finalist by the Hartford Business Journal.  Harrington was recognized at a luncheon on November 6 where he was honored for being a “financial professional committed to excellence and outstanding performance.”

Harrington joined the University in 2010. During his tenure, he has successfully negotiated balanced budgets, while building a strong financial base and creating a positive agenda. Harrington oversees campus security, human resources, the Bruyette Athenaeum, and all facilities.

“The University is lucky to have Shawn Harrington as a member of the team,” said President Pamela Trotman Reid. “Every aspect of his many responsibilities has been managed with a high level of professionalism, whether it is guiding board committees, or overseeing facilities upgrades or new construction.  Shawn pays attention to all the details from the initial planning through the final implementation.”

Harrington received his B.A. in Business Administration from American International College in Springfield, MA and his M.S. in Management from the Hartford Graduate Center, and is a C.P.A.
