Soccer Team Ends Regular Season With Victory –
Headed to GNAC Tournament
The Blue Jays soccer team finished the regular season on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over the Coast Guard in a match that was taped for CPTV-Sports broadcast. Saint Joseph, which won the regular-season title in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), finished the regular season 13-2-1 overall.
Junior forward Patricia Nolan scored two goals and became the first player in school history to go over 100 career points. Nolan entered the game with a school-record 42 career goals and 14 assists for a record 98 points. The Blue Jays wasted little time getting on the scoreboard and Nolan to the century mark.
The Blue Jays are the number one seed in the GNAC tournament that begins Sunday, October 28, when they host the number eight seed. CPTV will broadcast the game on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.
