Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Administration
Dr. Lisa DeGennaro earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Connecticut. She completed an ASHP-Accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut. After residency, Dr. DeGennaro joined the department of pharmacy at Saint Francis. She practiced for over seven years in the Ambulatory Clinic system affiliated with the hospital where she provided medication therapy management services for various chronic disease states. In her most recent role, Dr. DeGennaro served as Clinical Manager and Residency Program Director for the department.
Dr. DeGennaro achieved her Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential in 2006 and is also a certified immunizing pharmacist. She is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Association of Diabetes Educators. Dr. DeGennaro maintains practice interests in diabetes care and in improving access to prescription medications for the medically indigent. Her clinical practice site is located at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, Connecticut.
