Boots to Books: A Checklist for Veterans  (PDF: 2pp., 81K)

The Office of the Registrar  will assist veteran students in applying for federal educational benefits by acting as a liaison to the Veteran's Administration (VA). If you are a veteran and you enroll either full or part-time in an approved program of study, you are eligible to receive educational assistance.

Veteran Benefits may include payments for books, courses, tutoring and a housing allowance. Veterans with disabilities may be entitled to additional benefits. In some circumstances, educational benefit may be transferred to a dependent. A veteran's eligibility is established by the Veteran's Administration.

Yellow Ribbon ProgramUniversity of Saint Joseph is pleased to announce its participation in a new educational assistance program established by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide tuition grants to military veterans. The initiative, known as the Yellow Ribbon Program, begins fall 2009.  The program is based on a first come, first serve basis for Undergraduate and Graduate students.

Information regarding educational benefits or the Yellow Ribbon Program for veteran students can be found at www.gibill.va.gov.

The VA will not pay for continuing education courses, audited courses or courses that do not count toward your program of study at USJ. Please see our list of approved programs of study.
