Welcome to the Facilities Department at University of Saint Joseph. Our mission is to create clean, welcoming environments both indoors and out that allow the campus to run smoothly and efficiently. Our main goal is to improve the quality of life for all members of the campus community. Our team provides for the total needs of the USJ facility, from grounds care and housekeeping to construction, project management, emergency maintenance, corrective maintenance and utility management.
We are dedicated to adding value to the USJ community through our focus on sustainable practices in maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds keeping.
The University of Saint Joseph Facilities department is managed through a partnership with Sodexo Corporation. Sodexo has been a proud partner of USJ for over 10 years.
We take pride as a company in constantly seeking out ways to perform our work using sustainable methods. At the University of Saint Joseph, we have transitioned from traditional housekeeping products to new, more environmentally friendly cleaning products. We recycle all light bulbs, batteries and cleaning products. Our grounds team only uses organic fertilizers to ensure the landscape is free from toxic hazards. In addition to environmental safety, we hold employee safety as an utmost priority and provide constant training to build skills and improve knowledge needed to work safely and efficiently.
Our staff can be easily identified throughout campus by their uniforms which have the University logo on the front and department name on the back. To ensure professionalism among our staff and provide the safest environment for the University of Saint Joseph community our employees undergo a thorough background check prior to being hired.
The facilities management office is located on the extreme west side of campus, near the chapel.
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the exception of campus recognized holidays.
