Office of the Provost
The Provost oversees the planning, implementing, and evaluating of academic programs and services.
As chief academic officer, the Provost collaborates with other University Divisions and offices to oversee: the University curriculum and new curricular initiatives; faculty hiring and promotion; support for faculty research and teaching; student advising, career development, and the administration of all academic departments and programs; the library; the laboratory schools; academic events including Commencement; and offices within the division of Academic Affairs. The Provost is a member of the President’s senior leadership team and a principal participant in the University’s budget development and strategic planning.
