History: the ongoing chronicle of the human experience

Haven't we all heard that those who do not understand history are destined to repeat it?

As a History major at University of Saint Joseph, you will delve deep into the annals of local, national and world history. Your study of the past will enable you to interpret the present in order to shape the future. Your work as a modern historian will sharpen your communication and research ability, thereby cultivating the critical thinking skills required by many graduate programs and professional organizations.

“As an attorney, I use the research, writing and critical thinking skills I developed as a history major at USJ on a daily basis. USJ’s history department’s faculty mentors challenged me to ask questions, look past the obvious and seek opportunities to put the skills I learned to use. While at USJ, I interned at the Connecticut General Assembly and the 2012 Democratic National Convention. With a strong foundation of concrete knowledge, skills and experiences, I successfully completed law school and started my career as an associate attorney.”
