The USJ Social Work Completion Program is an accelerated two-year program leading to the completion of the academic requirements for a bachelor’s degree.
COMPLETION PROGRAM DISTINCTIVENESS
Students in the Bachelor's of Social Work Completion program enter with 100 hours of Human Services internship experience or 180 hours of work or volunteer experience in the human service or related field over at least a three month period. You will be studying with other adults who have work experience and need to complete their college degree to advance their career in this Council on Social Work Education accredited BSW program. Many USJ students will qualify to enter graduate school with advanced standing and complete their master's degree in Social Work in one year rather than the usual two. More than 90% of the University of Saint Joseph Social Work graduates go on to earn their MSW degree.
Our BSW graduates work in many settings including municipal, state and private organizations. They engage with a variety of populations from individual adults to families and the elderly. Social Work students gain knowledge, skills, and values for empowering individuals, strengthening families and communities, and promoting a global civil society based on human rights, social and economic justice, and peace.
The baccalaureate Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
