The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) provides students with tutoring to assist with writing papers in all disciplines, reviewing Undergraduate content, and with strengthening their academic success skills. Tutors at the CAE are either professionals in their field or high-achieving undergraduates recommended by faculty to tutor a specific discipline. The Writing Associates program embeds highly trained peer writing tutors in several of our English courses who complete all course readings and partner with students throughout the writing process for all assignments. Our Writing Associates also provide in-class and out-of class workshops as needed throughout the semester. Supplemental Instruction is available for various courses in disciplines such as Chemistry, Biology, and Nursing. Study tables are scheduled several times a week to help students succeed in these programs.
Content Tutoring: The CAE offers content tutoring for many Undergraduate courses, including Biology, Chemistry, Math, Nursing, Physics, and more. Review the content of your class with a Tutor who has previously taken the course, has been recommended by the professor, and received comprehensive training from our staff. To make your appointment as beneficial as possible, come prepared with questions and specific topics you want to review.
Writing Tutoring: Need help with paper organization, brainstorming, outlining, citation, formatting, deepening your critical thinking, or developing your thesis statement? Our Writing Tutors have been thoroughly trained by CAE professional staff and can help with Undergraduate or Graduate level papers. Undergraduate Writing Tutors have been recommended by professors and received high marks in their writing courses. Graduate Assistant and Professional Writing Tutors have strong writing backgrounds and have gone through a rigorous interview process.
Academic Success Tutoring: Looking for some guidance when it comes to time management, organizational skills, study skills, test taking strategies, or reading difficult texts? Our Academic Success Tutors have been vetted by professors and go through an extensive training process lead by our Academic Success Coordinator in order to help you enhance your academic success skills.
