Dance Minor
The University of Saint Joseph dance minor is an 18-credit program, including nine upper-level credits, designed to complement any major with a rigorous foundation in technique, choreography, history, and pedagogy.
The University of Saint Joseph opportunities for independent study in both student teaching and performance, available through on-campus programs and off-campus partnerships. Students can engage with the professional artists through participation in The University of Saint Joseph Dance Ensemble, which participates in several regional events, which include: the 5×5 Dance Festival, Hartford Summer Dance Festival, CT Young Choreographer Festival, Capital Classic Summer Shakespeare and more.
A dance minor complements any primary degree by blending technical rigor with creative exploration. It provides students with a solid foundation in dance technique, cultural and historical contexts, and artistic expression. Beyond the studio, the curriculum offers hands-on experience in production and performance, fostering versatile skills that enhance both personal artistry and professional adaptability.
