–Gina Raymond, M‘10
I attended USJ for secondary math teacher licensure in June 2010 and graduated with an MA in Instruction and Curriculum in December 2010. During my time at USJ, the faculty were instrumental in forming my philosophy as an educator. I developed skills to teach my subject area, but my professors modeled for me how to reach every child, love every child, and help each child achieve success in whatever way they could. I began my career at St. Mary’s School in Simsbury in 2010 and have served there for 12 years. I currently teach middle school math and coding grades 1-7. I coach the robotics club, and I am also the grade 6 homeroom teacher. The Office of Evangelization, Education, and Catechesis in the Archdiocese of Hartford presented the Light of Christ Award to me, one of ten educators in the diocese to be recognized. I want to extend my gratitude to the program and the people who helped me achieve this honor. Please accept my thanks to all the people who helped me during my time there. I am truly grateful that I selected USJ for my MA and teacher preparation.
