Education – Personalized Professional Pathways Concentration (MAPPP), M.A. (Online)
Create a personalized concentration pathway to reach your professional development goals
The Master of Arts in Education: Personalized Professional Pathways Concentration (MAPPP) concentration is a 30-credit master’s degree program designed to meet the individualized professional development goals of educators in the context of increasingly diverse and challenging P12 classrooms. Candidates will develop individualized goals that may encompass the need to create change through incorporating technology as well as concerns for the learning needs of neurodiverse and English learners and interest in finding new strategies to engage reluctant learners.
Building on the proven strengths of a cohort model, candidates for this degree will begin their graduate studies together, in a course that examines current educational issues in depth. They will be required to complete three additional courses with cohort members in the final phase of their program which brings together educational concepts, areas of professional focus, and active exploration of research in their area of interest. Of the 10-degree courses candidates will self-select six courses to enhance their professional practice through an individual program of studies. Candidates in this program will meet with an advisor to develop personalized professional goals and select six pathway courses from a menu of courses by session to customize the MAPPP program for each student.
Through customized learning pathways, educators can shape their graduate studies to meet their goals.
Eight-week courses include online classes that meet in real-time (synchronous) and provide offline (asynchronous) learning experiences within the four-hour class period.
