History: The ongoing chronicle of the human experience

When we learn about the past, we are much better able to understand the present. If you struggle to grasp what’s happening now and you want to develop solutions for some of the world’s most vexing problems, pursue a History major at USJ.

As a History major at the University of Saint Joseph, you will delve deep into the annals of local, national, and world history. Your work as a modern historian will sharpen your communication and research ability, thereby cultivating the critical thinking skills required by many graduate programs and professional organizations. You’ll learn to evaluate, synthesize, and discuss complex materials, talents needed in many post-graduate positions, from elementary-school teacher to policy analyst to campaign director.
