The University of Saint Joseph offers a dual degree program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy degree.
Students who qualify for this program are able to earn their bachelor’s degree at the University of Saint Joseph and then move to their master’s degree in the occupational therapy (MSOT) program at the University of Hartford.
Students complete their prerequisite courses for the MSOT program while completing their Biology degree and then apply to the University of Hartford for the MSOT program where there are two admissions vacancies for qualified USJ students.
Outcomes
- Communicate scientific and health-related information effectively through clear, professional writing and oral presentation skills appropriate for academic and clinical contexts.
- Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory, field, and/or computational skills commonly used in the biological sciences, including the collection, interpretation, and analysis of scientific data relevant to human health.
- Demonstrate a command of key biological concepts, including evolution, biological systems, biodiversity, and structure-function relationships, with application to human biology and health professions.
- Integrate foundational biological knowledge and scientific skills to support successful progression into master’s level occupational therapy education.
