WOMEN L.E.A.D. IN S.T.E.A.M.

About the Women L.e.a.d. in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) Group

The Women L.E.A.D. (Lead, Empower, Advance, Discover) in S.T.E.A.M. (WLIS) group at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) is committed to promoting the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.).

Founded in 2014, WLIS focuses on three main areas: professional development, research, and outreach. Through workshops, field trips, a continuing seminar speaker series, and career presentations, WLIS introduces students – especially women, who are less likely to pursue degrees in these fields – to the multitude of career possibilities available to them.

WLIS Group

Our Goal:
To meet our goal of encouraging more students to pursue education and careers in S.T.E.A.M., WLIS serves both USJ students and those in the greater community. By introducing students to the opportunities in these fields, we aim to build awareness of the valuable contributions students can make when they pursue their passions in these fields and provide the resources necessary to help them meet their goals.

Connecting Students with Leaders:
