Art Museum Exhibition
Shared Space: A New Era, Photographs from the Bank of America Collection
The Art Museum, USJ invites you to the opening of its latest exhibition, “Shared Space: A New Era, Photographs from the Bank of America Collection,” on Sept. 12 from 5-7:30 p.m. Through photography and video, media made ubiquitous through new technologies, 18 artists from nine countries explore how the physical spaces in which we interact – from city streets to rural landscapes – have evolved since the late 1980s, alongside our access to a virtual “global village.” This event is open to the public and the exhibition will be available for viewing from Sept. 13 – Dec. 15. Women’s Work: Stories Behind the Movement
On Monday, Sept. 16, watch a selection from “Women’s Work,” a multimedia series from Connecticut Public, featuring the stories of local women who share a common desire to be part of a collective effort. The viewing will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Heather Dawson, executive partner of the film, as well as the women highlighted. This event is presented by USJ’s Women’s Leadership Center and co-sponsored by the Aurora Foundation and The Hartford.

Remembering Catherine Kikoski, Ed.D.
A Remembrance Ceremony for Professor Emerita Catherine Kikoski will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. in the Connor Chapel of Our Lady. Dr. Kikoski founded USJ’s Marriage and Family Therapy program, and taught here for 22 years. For more information on her life, read her full obituary here.
Autorino Center Presents: BLACK by the Wondertwins
On Friday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m., the hip-hop dance duo the Wondertwins will share their newest show, BLACK, which explores the traumatizing effects of police violence towards the black community by incorporating sound and video from iconic African American figures like Martin Luther King, Jr. and Tupac, as well as victims, their relatives, and police officers.
Tickets are available as part of the Autorino Center’s Pay-It-Forward program, where the audience decides what, if anything, they would like to pay. Tickets are free for students.

Commencement may seem far away, but it’s time to begin the honorary degree selection process — and we rely on your nominations!
Each year at the Commencement Ceremony, USJ awards honorary degrees (Doctor of Humane Letters) to members of the local, national, and global communities.
