Dr. Ivan O. Edafiogho, a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, received a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (Nigeria), a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Bradford University (United Kingdom), and a Pharm.D. from Howard University. He was a Fulbright African Research Fellow at Howard University in 1990 and then taught at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Kuwait University from 2000 to 2011. He returned to the US in 2011 to become Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences at USJ till 2020. Active in teaching, research, and service, Dr. Edafiogho is a licensed pharmacist in the District of Columbia, a co-inventor of novel anticonvulsant compounds with five U.S. Patents, and a co-author of a pharmaceutical calculation textbook. With over 70 scientific papers, his research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel anti-inflammatory, anti-asthma, anticancer, anti-allergic, immunosuppressive, and analgesic agents.
