Well-versed in the field of sport management and marketing, Janet Howes, Ph.D., brings the knowledge gained from vast professional experiences to the University of Saint Joseph classroom. In addition to her work as a professor at universities across the country, Howes has worked for a number of sport competitions, including: the 2013 X Games, the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2004 Summer Olympics, and the 2002 Winter Olympics. Her dedication to the field extends to professional organizations as well. Howes serves as a member of the North American Society of Sport Management (NASSM) and the Sport Marketing Association (SMA), and as a board member for the Colorado Senior Sport Development Council (CSSDC). With a research interest in sport event volunteer management and servant leadership, Howes has contributed to her field, presenting her work on influences and motivation of sport event manager volunteerism.
