Jessica Motroni Banik, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies Joined USJ:Dr. Jessica Motroni Banik, Assistant Professor, joins the School of Interdisciplinary Health and Science in the Department of Counseling and Applied Behavioral Studies. Dr. Motroni Banik received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University. She is a marriage and family therapist with expertise in family therapy and providing clinical supervision. Prior to joining USJ, she was the Associate Family Program Director at an adolescent residential treatment center in Connecticut and was an adjunct instructor for USJ. Her research interest explores counselor development, gatekeeping, and counselor education program training.
Dr. Motroni Banik’s professional background includes over 12 years of clinical experience in marriage, couples, and family therapy in various levels of care and settings. She has worked in residential and outpatient settings with adults and adolescents. She has facilitated positive parent education courses for families through a community organization, PARENTS Inc., in Hawaii. Dr. Motroni Banik has also provided clinical service as a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC), providing brief solution-focused counseling to service members and their families in outpatient and school settings.
