Karen Corcoran, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CHSE© is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program. She earned her DNP and BSN from Fairfield University, and her B.A. from Douglass College, Rutgers University. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses. Prior to joining USJ, she was the Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, the PMHNP Program Director, and an Assistant Professor of the Practice at Fairfield University. She is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and has a private practice where she specializes in anxiety, depression, life transitions, cancer and chronic illness, and loss, grief and bereavement. Her research has focused on graduate nursing education specifically related to simulation, telehealth, and wellness; as well as loss, grief and bereavement.
