About
Dr. Costa is passionate about maternal and newborn nursing. Her research is focused on racial disparities in maternal and newborn health and and her doctorate dissertation is titled Perceptions of undergraduate nursing students on racism and racial disparities in maternal health.
Prior to joining USJ, she was a nurse educator for women’s health services at Hartford Hospital. She still practices in the clinical setting as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, AWHONN electronic fetal monitoring instructor, and neonatal resuscitation instructor.
