Changing Perceptions: Disrupt Aging Class at USJ

USJ has offered AARP Connecticut’s Disrupt Aging class that brings age inclusivity to college campuses since its initial launch in 2019. The class challenges stereotypes in an effort to change perceptions about older people. USJ associate professor of health science, Lisa Fanelli, OTD, OTR/L, said age is too often left out of the conversation on inclusivity and diversity.

Students learn to consider new approaches with USJ sophomore Kinsley Green stating, “your age does not equate to your health.”
