The 18th biennial Women in Leadership Luncheon took place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. This year, Isabella Russo ’19 was inducted into New Britain’s Young Women Christian Association’s (YWCA) Carol R. Virostek Academy of Women Leaders. The event recognizes women in central Connecticut who demonstrate outstanding leadership and achievements in their career. 51 women were honored at this ceremony.
“I was so incredibly humbled by the opportunity to be honored next to all of these bright women who constantly impact their communities socially and emotionally. I want to thank President Free, Sister Beth Fischer, and Molly Dever for nominating and supporting me at such a special event, “said Russo.
Russo is a History major at the University of Saint (USJ). Throughout her four years at USJ, she has played a very active role on campus. Russo is a member of Pi Gamma Mu Honors Society, USJ’s Honor Program, and has consistently made the dean’s list. She is the Class of 2019 President and Student Body President as well. Outside of the classroom, she is the captain of the softball team.
