University of Saint Joseph Nurses achieve 100 percent pass rate on national exam

The University of Saint Joseph proudly announces a 100 percent National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) pass rate for all of its nursing graduates in 2023 from both the Accelerated Second Degree (ASD) and Nursing B.S. programs –a remarkable achievement and testament to the rigors of academic preparation for the national licensure exam by our students and faculty here at USJ.

“We commend our nursing students and faculty for their dedication and diligence in achieving this educational milestone. It is now more crucial than ever to have our nurses exceptionally prepared to enter the workforce as Connecticut and the nation struggle with a critical nursing shortage,” says Denise Puia, chair and associate professor, Department of Nursing. “We know hospitals hire our nurses because of their training and USJ education. Our pass rates confirm they are more than ready to launch their nursing careers.”

USJ’s highly respected nursing programs guarantee clinical placement at hospitals and healthcare facilities. Hands-on learning by USJ students is supported by state-of-the-art technology in USJ’s fully operational Nursing Education and Simulation Centers. USJ’s Accelerated Second Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ASD) offers students with baccalaureate degrees in other disciplines the opportunity to gain a B.S. with a concentration in Nursing.

“USJ has a long history of preparing aspiring nurses to serve in the healthcare field,” says USJ President Rhona Free. “We are honored the class of 2023 is continuing that tradition of compassion and commitment to quality care as evidenced by the 100% NCLEX passing rate for both programs.”
