Sport Management Students Volunteer for March Madness

Reading Time: 1 minute

On Thursday, March 21 and Saturday, March 23, 2019, students from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Sport Management Program volunteered at the NCAA Tournament, also known as March Madness. Located at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., students worked with employees as Customer Service Representatives. They helped clean up the arena between basketball sessions and assisted spectators to their seats.

“The students were enthusiastic and professional,” said Janet Howes, Ph.D., assistant professor of Business Administration and director of the Sport Management and Promotion Program. “The goal of having students volunteer at a sport event is for the students to see what happens behind the scenes and to get a sense of what sport managers do. I’m very proud of them!”

Keep up the great work, Blue Jays!
