USJ Senior to Compete in Miss Connecticut Pageant

Joining the Miss America Organization in 2012, Allison competed in Miss Connecticut’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. After taking a brief break from competing, she returned this past year, winning the title of Miss Forestville.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to compete in the Miss Connecticut pageant with 16 other beautiful women,” said Allison. “It truly means a lot to be chosen as a representative for the Miss America Organization and I have made it a top priority to be the best Miss Forestville I can be throughout the year.”

Though Allison enjoys meeting and working with the other contestants, her favorite aspect of the Miss America Organization is the continued opportunity for community service involvement. An avid volunteer prior to this experience, the Organization has provided her unique opportunities to connect with the community. Allison’s biggest community service project is with the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance, an organization she began working with after her uncle passed away from cancer two years ago. After attending and volunteering at multiple events, she later held her own fundraiser and raised over $7,000 for the Alliance. This money helps families with their financial needs and goes towards continued research efforts. Due to the success of the event, Allison’s fundraiser will now occur annually and will award $1,000 to a Bristol student whose life has been affected by brain tumors.

“This organization has been very supportive in everything I have done and I am so happy to continue my service with them,” Allison explained.

Allison also feels supported by her friends and the USJ community at large, as she prepares for the competition this summer. She is looking forward to spending time with her fellow contestants and learning more about herself throughout the course of the pageant.

Good luck, Allison!
