On Wednesday, Nov. 6,2019, the University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Accounting and Business Society welcomed guest speaker Mark Zampino, Public Affairs Director at the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).
Zampino discussed the impact of networking on building students’ careers and developing long-lasting relationships. Additionally, he spoke on how to begin creating a strong network – by utilizing professional websites like LinkedIn, volunteering in the community, and meeting with professors.
Steven Jarett, MPA, CPA, chair and associate professor of Business Administration, stated that Mr. Zampino, “did an outstanding job of educating the audience about the importance of networking, creating your own brand, and becoming an active listener.”
“Networking is often a topic not taught within the classroom, but is very crucial in order to build a successful career,” said USJ Accounting and Business Society Vice President Filamena Vukaj ’21. “For this reason, we are happy to have had Mark Zampino come and share his advice on how students can begin building their network during college. His presentation received high remarks from all who attended and we are looking forward to having Mr. Zampino return to USJ soon.”
