Lauren Tucker, Ed.D., assistant professor, joined the School of Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education in the department of Education this fall. Dr. Tucker received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, with a concentration in Educational and Assistive Technology, from Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). An assistive technology specialist with expertise in evaluations and consultations for individuals from birth to adulthood, she previously worked with districts around Connecticut to build assistive technology capacity and match technology to student needs. Prior to joining USJ, Dr. Tucker served as an assistant professor at SCSU. With over nine years of experience in special education, Dr. Tucker has cross-certification in regular and special education, and has worked in primary, middle, and high school programs. Her research explores effectiveness of assistive technology for students with disabilities and informal teacher learning through social media.
