USJ Athletics Weekly Round-up: March 9, 2020

On Friday, March 6 the 2019-2020 USJ basketball season officially came to a close. The men’s historic season ended with a hard-fought loss to Hobart in the first round of the Division III NCAA Tournament. In 2019-2020 the men captured their first-ever GNAC conference title, en route to a 26-3 record that included an unblemished 11-0 mark in conference play. The women’s team significantly improved their win total this season finishing 11-14 and 3-8 in league play. Overall it was an improvement of eight wins.

Women’s Hoops Wins GNAC Sportsmanship Award

For the second straight year, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women’s basketball team won the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Institutional Sportsmanship Award, becoming the first school in GNAC women’s basketball history to win the award in back-to-back seasons. Read More

DJ, Marvelous Martins Headline Historical 2020 All-GNAC Honors

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men’s basketball team made history in many ways this week, from winning its first conference championship to receiving a steady stream of awards as part of the 2019-20 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference selections, released Monday by the conference’s front office. The league’s 12 head coaches vote to decide all major awards and all-league honors, and the Blue Jays were the benefactors among several of them. Read More
