How to Apply to Live on Campus

The information on this page is meant to serve as a summary of some aspects the housing application process and policies. Students are encouraged to review the housing contract, available in eRezLife, prior to submitting their housing application.

General Information

Information Sessions and Tabling for Returning Students

• Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. in the McAuley Hall Lounge 
• Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. in the Assumption Lounge
• Wednesday March 11 at 12 p.m., virtual via Teams – check BJB for link
• Tuesday, March 17 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in McGovern Lounge (tabling)

Meal Plans

• All Main Campus residents students are required to carry a residential meal plan. Students assigned to or selecting Main Campus Housing are automatically assigned the Gold All Access Meal Plan.
• Students in the Suites may request to change to the Bronze or Flex Meal plan by completing the Meal Plan Change Form in eRezLife prior to the first day of the semester.
• Village Townhouse residents are not require to carry a meal plan, but may opt-in to a meal plan.

Housing Accommodations

• Students with existing housing accommodations must re-apply for the upcoming academic year by submitting a request form and documentation for review by Accessibility Services.
• Any returning residential student requesting housing accommodations is encouraged to submit their request form and documentation by Monday, March 2 to ensure it is reviewed prior to housing selection.
• Any incoming residential student requesting housing accommodations is encouraged to submit their request form and documentation by Monday, June 1 to ensure it is reviewed prior to housing assignments are completed.

Housing Contract

• The housing contract, once submitted is binding and is subject to the cancellation policy outlined in the contract based upon the type of housing you are assigned to. 
• It is the responsibility of the student to review the housing contract before submitting to ensure they are aware of the terms and conditions.

Housing Cancellation Policy

Incoming students pay a non-refundable deposit at time of enrollment and therefore are not subject to cancellation fees if they defer or cancel their enrollment, or switch to commuter status.

For returning residential students, the following cancellation policy applies after submission of the housing application in eRezLife:

• Cancellation between submission of application and June 31: $350
• Cancellation between July 1 – First Day of Classes Fall Term: $750
• Cancellation after 1st Day of Fall Term: No refunds
• Village Townhouses: The contract is binding at the time of assignment and all fees associated with occupancy for the full contract terms are non-refundable. If a student is able to identify another student willing to take over their space, the student may be charged $1,000 cancellation fee only.

Housing Selection Process

1. Complete the Housing Application
   Log into usj.erezlife.com using your USJ email and password to complete your application. New students cannot access eRezLife until approximately 48 hours after they are provided their USJ credentials.
   Please note that the housing contract is binding for a full academic year and cancelations are subject to fees or other financial penalty.
2. Select a Roommate Group
   Once your application is submitted, you will be able to select a roommate group on eRezLife. You can select the roommate(s) that you are looking to live with.
   Don’t have a roommate? eRezLife has an online platform to look for other students who are looking for a roommate.
3. Housing Selection and Room Assignment
   Returning students will have the opportunity to select their room during our spring housing selection process.
   Incoming students will be administratively assigned in July. Those without confirmed roommates will be assigned a roommate using eRezLife’s algorithm. Notification of assignment will be sent to USJ emails in mid-July.
