Veteran’s Awards

The USJ Community will gather on November 11, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. in the Crystal Room (Mercy Hall) for our annual recognition of Veteran’s Day.

As part of the ceremony, two awards may be given to members of the USJ community who are veterans or active service members. Please consider submitting a nomination; the deadline is October 15.

Frances T. Shea Buckley Award

This award is given in recognition of the service and leadership of a veteran or service member who is a USJ current student or alum.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Frances T. Shea Buckley Award in recognition of the service and leadership of a veteran or service member who is a current student or alumni of the University of Saint Joseph. Please complete this form no later than October 15, 2026.

*Please note that the Frances T. Shea Buckley Award is for students and/or alumni only. There is a separate annual award for staff and faculty, the Colonel B. Catherine Noble Award, and nominations for that award will be solicited separately.

A nominee for this award is expected to function in a manner consistent with the USJ Core Values and Mission. In addition, the nominee must:

be a graduate of the University of Saint Joseph or a currently matriculated student who has completed a minimum of 2 terms (semesters) in any of the undergraduate, graduate or doctoral programs at USJ.
be an individual who has demonstrated excellence in leadership and/or commitment to serving in the USJ community and/or beyond.
be a Veteran or service member (please include verification of Veteran or service member status with your nomination).
