School Counselors

The University of Saint Joseph is the premier small private university in Connecticut developing professionals for in-demand fields with its undergraduate and graduate degree programs designed for your goals.

A USJ degree is a proven credential for undergraduates seeking a traditional New England college setting with exceptional NCAA Division III athletics and a strong sense of community.

More Facts

USJ is committed to a holistic, comprehensive admissions process for all applicants to the University. When reviewing applications, the Office of Admissions considers a student’s academic record, their accomplishments and activities in both school and the community, their essay, and all academic letters of recommendation received.

Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP)

The University of Saint Joseph participates in the Connecticut Automatic Admission Program (CAAP), which allows graduating high school seniors in Connecticut who meet identified thresholds to be automatically admitted to participating colleges and universities.

Certain academic programs are excluded from the CT Auto Admit Program (including Nursing, Pre-Nursing, Health Science/Direct-entry PA, and 3+3 Pharmacy). Students applying to one of these programs, or who have an interest in being considered for the Honors Program should include an admission essay and letter of recommendation.

Connecticut Transfer Guarantee

The University of Saint Joseph is proud to be a part of the Connecticut Transfer Guarantee (CT Guarantee), a statewide effort to establish systematic transfer pathways between Connecticut’s community colleges and four-year independent institutions. The Connecticut Guarantee mitigates credit loss and increases student success by ensuring admission into participating independent colleges for associate degree-holding students. Students who participate in the Connecticut Guarantee and choose to enroll at USJ in an eligible program will ensure that they are able to graduate in as few as two years.

The Connecticut Guarantee ensures admission to USJ for students with an associate degree from a Connecticut Community College and who have earned a minimum GPA of 2.5. Additionally, students who enroll in an eligible 60+60 program, as part of the Connecticut Guarantee, will ensure that, upon completing their associate degree with at least a 2.5 GPA, they will need no more than 60 credits to graduate from the University of Saint Joseph. This allows transfer students to remain on their four-year pathway to complete their Bachelor’s Degree.
