Ranky Tanky

Hartford Hot Several Brass Band Opening

Friday, March 2, 2018, 7:30 p.m.

Ranky Tanky translates loosely as "Work It," or "Get Funky!" In this spirit, this Charleston, SC based quintet performs timeless music of Gullah culture born in the southeastern Sea Island region of the United States.

Relief Work: Woodcuts, Wood Engravings, and Linocuts

January 12 – March 11, 2018

The Art Museum, USJ’s new exhibition features art from the 16th century to the present including work from Albrecht Dürer’s Life of the Virgin (1511), wood engravings for Harper’s Weekly by Winslow Homer, Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints by Hiroshige, contemporary color prints and much more.
