The Division of Student Affairs strives to advance the mission of the University by promoting its core values and connecting its work to the University’s strategic initiatives in ways that enhance the student experience.
The Division of Student Affairs is intentional about planning, creating program and learning outcomes and using assessment in the development of leadership skills and intellectual abilities, identification and exploration of personal interests, and preparation of our students for roles as future professional and community leaders. We are committed to the academic experience and collaborate across the University to implement innovative and student-centered programs, practices, and services to support student engagement and student success through the co-curricular experience.
The University of Saint Joseph Athletic Department is NCAA Division III featuring 15 varsity teams (nine women’s and six men’s programs), intramurals, numerous recreation, and wellness programs. A member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) our athletes have won championships in volleyball, basketball, softball, and tennis. The O’Connell Athletic Center features a fitness center, indoor track, six-lane pool, gymnasium, and locker rooms. The Center’s outdoor complex includes six tennis courts, synthetic turf walking track, synthetic turf soccer/lacrosse/field hockey field and a softball field.
The athletic department at the University of Saint Joseph complements students’ academic experience with a competitive physical regimen. Participation in athletics develops students’ leadership skills, strengthens their problem-solving capabilities, and allows them to maintain their physical, mental, and emotional fitness.
